55lb AquaExcel Starter - $64.99
3.2mm floating pellets, 45% protein. When delivered, your hybrids are used to a floating feed diet and will readily accept this feed. We’ll discuss bringing you a 25kg (55lb) bag when we stock your fish.
50lb Triton 4512 Performance - $49.99
Sustain ponds with performance feed. This 3/16” floating pellet (also 45% protein) works well for young to mature adult hybrid striped bass and other sportfish including largemouth bass, bluegill and redear sunfish.
Why High Protein Feed?
Protein equates to growth and strength (energy). In a quality sport fish pond, both are important. Local feeds stores offer low quality catfish & pond fish food, neither will grow sportfish well. Some fish farms offer minnows as a sustained food source, they dissipate quickly and require nearly continuous restocking. So, why waste your money? Control your feeding program as needed to maximize growth and limit waste. Our customers prefer performance feed to grow big aggressive fish in ponds and lakes. Because sport fish require an abundance of live food fish and/or at least 40% protein feed for success, 45% protein ensures your pond or lake will have the biggest, strongest fish possible. Our hybrid striped bass fingerlings and your existing stock will flourish on Cargill’s Triton performance feed.

When to Feed
Feed aggressively from spring through early fall. Most fish (in Oklahoma) metabolize food when the water temperature is above 50 degrees. As water temps cool, reduce the quantity of feed. Skip feeding completely during cold weather.
In Oklahoma, April - October are aggressive feeding months; Late November - February are low-feed months.
How to Feed
Most customers prefer Triton as a primary food source to promote growth throughout their ponds. Some use auto feeders, others feed by hand daily as a supplement to food fish in the pond. Feed should only be applied where it is all consumed within 10 minutes.
If fish appear thin while on a supplemental feed regiment, try feeding more often, extend feeding to 15 minutes, or consider an auto feeder.
Always avoid applying too much feed where excess remains floating after fish have stopped eating.
SPRING, SUMMER & EARLY FALL
- Feed two to three times per day Morning
- Feed before the sun hits the water Mid-Day
- Feed anytime on overcast days Evening
- Feed after the sun goes down, before dark
LATE FALL & WINTER
- Reduce feed to once per day (morning, mid-day or evening) as temps drop
- Take advantage of warm days and feed twice a day
- Don’t feed when the temps are in the 40s or below
